Your body defends its fat stores by turning hunger up and metabolism down.
GLP-1 weight-loss injections quieten the hunger so a calorie deficit finally holds — and our doctors protect your muscle and your face while you get there.

Natural hunger: After a meal the "I've had enough" signal fades within minutes, so hunger spikes back between meals — the food noise that drives snacking.

On GLP-1: The engineered copy lasts for days, so fullness stays switched on and the spikes flatten. Eating less feels like wanting less, not white-knuckle willpower.

Excess weight isn't a discipline problem — it's a defended system. As you diet, appetite hormones climb and your metabolism quietly slows, so the meals that once worked stop working. Telling someone in that state to try harder is like telling someone short-sighted to squint more sincerely.

In the weight-loss trials, the groups who dieted with real counselling but no medication lost only about 2–3% of their body weight — against roughly 15–22% with a GLP-1 injection alongside the same diet and activity. That gap is physiology, not effort.
Figures are averages from large supervised trials (STEP and SURMOUNT programmes), included alongside nutrition and activity counselling. Individual results vary widely and no outcome is guaranteed.
What Are GLP-1 Injections?
What Are
GLP-1 Injections?

GLP-1 weight-loss injections are prescription medicines that mimic a natural gut hormone released after eating. They reduce appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and increase fullness — so you eat less without fighting constant hunger. In Singapore they're prescribed and supervised by a doctor, never sold over the counter.
The class is known as GLP-1 receptor agonists (in Chinese, 减肥针 — jiǎnféi zhēn, "weight-loss injection"). The two used most for weight are semaglutide, given weekly, and the newer tirzepatide, which copies two gut hormones at once and tends to produce larger average loss; a daily option, liraglutide, also exists. Which one suits you — and at what dose — is a decision for your doctor, not something to assume in advance. What matters far more than the specific medicine is being properly assessed, correctly dosed and monitored.
How Do GLP-1 Injections Work?
Natural GLP-1 lasts only minutes; these medicines are engineered copies that last for days, so the "I've had enough" signal stays switched on instead of fading between meals. The honest way to picture it: losing weight is remodelling a building, not demolishing it.

It quietly removes the relentless hunger and food noise — the single biggest thing standing between you and a deficit you can actually hold.

Protein and resistance training tell the body to give up fat, not muscle. Roughly 1.2–1.6 g of protein per kg a day, and lifting 2–4 times a week.

Muscle kept is metabolism kept — the engine you'll need when you step down the dose. That's remodelling that stays up, not a crash that collapses.
What to Expect From GLP-1 Injections?

In supervised trials, average loss ranged from about 15% of body weight with semaglutide to around 20% or more with tirzepatide over roughly 15 months, alongside diet and activity. Results build in phases: appetite settles in the first couple of weeks, visible change by weeks 8–12 as the dose builds, and the steepest loss usually between months three and six.

Is it working?
Aim for roughly 0.5–1% of body weight per week, or about 5% over three months.
Below that on a correct dose, we review the plan rather than pushing you to eat less.

Are GLP-1 Injections Suitable For You?

Usually a good fit
Adults whose weight is affecting their health — a raised BMI with issues such as prediabetes or insulin resistance, fatty liver, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea.
People who've genuinely tried and found their biology fighting back — regain, plateaus, relentless hunger.
Anyone who wants it done properly: assessed, dosed slowly, monitored, with muscle and face protected.

Not suitable / needs caution
Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2.
A history of pancreatitis, or type 1 diabetes.
Significant gut conditions such as gastroparesis.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Anyone who simply doesn't need it — we'll say so.
Side Effects of GLP-1 Injections

Mostly mild, mostly early, mostly manageable.
Most side effects are gastrointestinal, mild to moderate, and concentrated while the dose is being raised.
Our guiding rule is simple: the dose that works with the fewest side effects is the right dose.

Driven by slower stomach emptying, worst during dose increases. Controlled by titrating slowly, smaller lower-fat meals, and stopping at the first sign of fullness.

Slowed gut motility can push either way. Adequate fibre, fluids and a tweaked titration handle most cases.

Usually a sign of under-eating or dehydration — the fix is more protein and water, not eating even less.

A fine, short needle sits just under the skin — a light pinch at most, and essentially painless with a few seconds of ice. The needle is the easy part.
Rarer risks (such as pancreatitis and gallstones, the latter linked to rapid weight loss of any kind) are exactly why proper screening, slow titration and monitoring matter — and why these medicines should never be bought unsupervised.
The reasons that matter are invisible in the mirror.
Excess weight — and the insulin resistance that usually travels with it — is an upstream driver of disease.
Losing 15–20% of body weight can move a person out of several risk categories at once.
In Singapore, where around one in ten adults lives with obesity, we treat this as medical weight management.

Beyond GLP-1 Injections,
Your Face Needs A Plan of Its Own
Rapid loss deflates the facial fat pads faster than skin can retract — the hollow, gaunt look popularly called "Ozempic face". It isn't the medicine damaging your skin; it's the fat loss you wanted, appearing somewhere you didn't. It's predictable, which means it's plannable — ideally started before a hollowed face appears, not after.
