The Profhilo treatment procedure involves injecting hyaluronic acid (HA) on each side of the face or neck at five injection points. The dermatologist carefully analyses these five points to determine where the HA should be injected, as the chosen areas must avoid critical blood vessels and nerve branches.
Numbing cream will be applied to the targeted area to lessen the pain associated with the treatment procedure. Although the pain is minimal, patients will hardly feel it. The doctor will proceed with the treatment after the numbing cream has settled into the skin. Each injected site may have raised bumps that can lead to temporary bruising or swelling. However, these minimal side effects usually subside within the day.
Since the downtime for this treatment is minimal, patients can quickly get back to doing their daily activities once they are done with the treatment. We only advise our patients to avoid consuming alcoholic drinks and any strenuous physical activity during the first 24 hours after the treatment.
